Andrey Sawchenko currently works with IJM’s program teams in the Asia Pacific to maximize protection of vulnerable children, women and men from human trafficking in collaboration with governments and civil society partners. Andrey has led IJM programs to demonstrate effective models to eradicate forced and bonded labour from key industries and recruiting corridors in SE Asia and southern India. He previously spent 10 years in Thailand and the Philippines leading IJM teams fighting sex trafficking.

Impact research studies following IJM’s partnerships with governments in the Philippines and India confirmed reductions of between 72% and 85% in the rate of human trafficking crimes. Before joining IJM, Andrey was a lawyer in Seattle, USA.
