Impersonation scams are one of the fastest-growing and most damaging fraud types, fuelled by AI and cross-border criminal networks. This workshop begins with a keynote by Paul Raffile on protecting and supporting victims, including in sextortion cases. A first panel will focus on prevention and detection, featuring insights from Amazon on fraud and brand protection, Interpol on investigative approaches, and Trend Micro on AI-driven impersonation tactics. A second panel will highlight victim support initiatives, from legal and consumer protection frameworks to NGO-led programmes, showcasing how industry, regulators, and civil society can collaborate to assist victims and strengthen resilience.
